THE BEAGLES AND COTTONTAILS OF OUR BLACK PRAIRIE
For over a hundred years, short-legged beagles have worked together, chorusing through the fields of Mississippi, in search of what Constance Helmericks called
“The Most Important Animal — the Rabbit”

In the early 1950’s Mr. Helmericks published Hunting in North America; (The Telegraph Press, 1831, Harrisburg Pennsylvania) where he wrote:
“…The rabbit has a profound effect on hunters. Sportsmen hunt the
rabbit in our country more than all other game combined...”
That was 60 years ago.

Words fall short of describing the exhilaration felt by those who engage in this nearly forgotten southern pastime filled with smiles, anticipation, and reward.
The synergy witnessed between our “four legged friends” is nothing short of admirable and their faultless communication, in the pursuit to present you a clear opportunity at this classic quarry, is inspiring.
Our guides, whose fathers and grandfathers have passed on the traditions of this hunt, will share with you a day not soon to be forgotten.
